More tips:

  • Use lean ground beef- This will help cut down on all the grease. Just don’t get too lean of a cut or they will dry out. Normally I get 80/20.
  • Substitute ground turkey for ground beef.
  • Meat thermometer- Make sure the burgers reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees at the thickest portion of the burger.
  • Don’t skimp on seasoning. It gives the burger so much flavor.
  • Make sliders instead of regular size burgers if you have kiddos with smaller appetites. Sliders also work great for parties. Perfect for little hands or when you need smaller portions.
  • Don’t crowd or overlap the burgers in the air fryer. The burgers need to be in a single layer.

Can you put foil in an air fryer? ›

The great news about air fryers is that you can use foil along with parchment paper to cook your food in an air fryer. Just remember that if it's safe and effective to use in a conventional oven, it will work just fine in an air fryer.

How do you tell if a burger is done without cutting it? ›

A rare burger will feel soft, like the fleshy area between your thumb and palm when your hand is flat. The more cooked the burger, the firmer it will feel. Press your thumb to your ring finger on one hand and feel that same part of your hand between the thumb and palm; that's what a medium burger should feel like.
