It is so funny to me the ingredients I used to take for granted. I mean if you want chocolate milk you have to buy chocolate syrup at the store. Right?! WRONG! You can make your own homemade chocolate syrup for a fraction of the price that tastes so much better than store bought. Folks this stuff will blow your mind! You can even get creative and add some peppermint extract to make Mint Chocolate Syrup, or substitute in Orange extract for a Chocolate Orange Syrup. I will never buy store bought chocolate syrup again!

Boy this would be so great to make. My granddaughters drink a lot of chocolate milk when they come over for the weekend and making it like this would be so much easier and cheaper too. I love the bottle you are using to keep it in too. Thank you so much for sharing this. 🙂

  3. I was going to ask how long it keeps for, but then thought again, its chocolate… it will be eaten way before it goes bad! Do you think if you added more cocoa powder that you would get a more dark chocolate syrup?

A word of caution- do NOT turn your back for a second to put a dish in the sink while stirring or it will immediately boil over and melt your glass stovetop. not that i have any personal experience…

This is awesome! Thanky you -and my kids thank you! 🙂 In my quest to eat healthier and without High Fructose Corn Syrup, I recently found a similar “recipe” for choc milk with cocoa and confec sugar that had to be made in a blender. My kids liked it but not the bubbly froth that the blender created. They love this – and so do I. Oh, and it is good on ice cream too! I have made it several times already.
