Critics Consensus

POTC: AWE provides the thrilling action scenes, but mixes in too many characters with too many incomprehensible plot threads.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Namrata Joshi Outlook What began as a thrilling and engrossing entertainer ends up as a terribly tedious franchisee -- the convoluted plot leaves you more confused than involved. Rated: 5/10 Nov 27, 2020 Full Review Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Joanne Laurier World Socialist Web Site Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is marginally more coherent than last year's sequel-a very small mercy. It is, however, just as bloated, requiring a level of familiarity with both its predecessors. Sep 2, 2020 Full Review Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End | Rotten Tomatoes (6) Micheal Compton Bowling Green Daily News At World's End is nearly three hours long, so it does feel a little padded, but for the most part the film moves at a reasonable pace - even if it almost stumbles to the finish while trying to tie up all the loose ends. Audience Member I absolutely love the original Pirates of The Caribbean movies, and this one is no different. At World’s End would’ve been a fitting finale, had they not decided to make the next two movies, (which are quite disappointing in my opinion). Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/19/24 Full Review Carter C This film is filled to the brim of the barrel with thrilling action scenes, super realistic CGI, and too many betrayals to keep track of, keeping this movie as interesting and engaging as possible. Although the movie may be too long and confusing to watch, this Pirates film is very far from disappointing. Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/08/24 Full Review Peter P There are a lot forced, bad things but the good things in this movie makes it so that it doesn't matter. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/06/24 Full Review Mr. G Der in meinen Augen gelungene Abschluss einer guten Trilogie. Trotz der Manko ist es ein gelungener Abschluss einer Piraten Trilogie Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/08/24 Full Review Markus L Even though it is longer than the first two movies, it still justifies it's run times, with a good pacing and a really good story. The cast is likable and Davy Jones is a really good villain (that I forgot to talk about in my "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" review), whose CGI still holds up today. It's a lot more weird, but IMO it pays off. The twists and turns are great and the ending leaves you really satisfied. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/06/24 Full Review Raven M Funny and entertaining The cgi is good. The cast works well with one another at it shows .
